Age Concern Policy
AGE CONCERN POLICY
At KESOL, we are very conscious of the need to find a balance between helping an aged resident to live in a warmer, healthier, drier home and ensure they can fully understand, operate and decide upon any purchase.
If a client has Alzheimer’s, Dementia or any condition causing memory loss or a lack of understanding, they must not make a purchasing decision without the support of family, friends or the person holding their power or attorney.
As a representative of these companies and the KESOL brands, we expect you to follow the below protocols when visiting with older residents:
- If a person lives alone, always ask if they would like a family member or support person present during consultation
- If the person visibly appears to be frail or not sound of mind then do not continue unless a family member or support person is present
- Offer them a subsidized price
- Do not push or pressure the clients to purchase
- Make a clear distinction between a quote and a sale
- Carefully recap the consultation and/or sale afterwards with the clients, give them ample opportunity to change their mind and discuss any potential conversations or questions the family may have
- Offer to let the family know what has happened and get a 2nd opinion
- Leave a business card with your details
- Be available to answer any queries family members may have
- At all times remember we are Cantabrians helping Cantabrians
